KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 (Bernama) -- CIMB Bank Bhd and its unit CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd are having the CIMB Bazar Siberturahim again this year to create business opportunities for microenterprises and provide customers with an avenue to perform charitable contributions through zakat fitrah and donations to selected non-governmental organisations.
In a statement today, the banking group said the online bazaar is a one-stop platform for customers to enjoy CIMB-exclusive deals and to recreate the Raya shopping experience by bringing together a host of attractive offerings to meet customers’ needs during the festive season. “In support of local businesses that continue to be affected by the pandemic, the bazaar will showcase and promote homegrown microenterprises, including celebrity chef Chef Wan who will offer useful tips for preparing timeless Raya recipes,” CIMB Group chief executive officer (group consumer banking) Samir Gupta said. He said in line with the bank’s sustainability agenda, the bazaar would also feature Raya cookies and other products from local businesses and microenterprises, such as those from bottom 40 per cent income (B40) entrepreneurs who participated in Program Keusahawanan Taylor’s-CIMB Islamic in addition to the Women of Will Microcredit Programme and entrepreneurship development programme for women entrepreneurs by CIMB Foundation. Running for the second year, the bazaar carries the theme “Segalanya di sini, Ramadan Raya ini” this time.
