KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 (Bernama) -- In appreciation of its loyal customers, AXA Affin General Insurance Bhd (AAGI) will be facilitating the refund of 6 per cent goods and services tax (GST) to all policyholders who have made prior payments for policies expiring on June 1 onwards. The offer is valid till Sept 30. AAGI chief financial officer, Michelle Dan said the effort was in line with the announcement by the Malaysian government to reduce GST to 0 per cent with effect from June 1. "In most cases, no GST refund will be given for payments made prior to June 1. But we appreciate our loyal customers and therefore we will refund the 6 per cent GST to them," Dan said in a statement today. From now till Sept 30, all affected policyholders can request for the refund by contacting AAGI's customer service at (+603) 2170 8282, weekdays from 8.30am to 5.30pm (excluding public holidays) or by visiting any of its branch offices nationwide. -- BERNAMA

KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 (Bernama) -- Osaka Gas Engineering Co Ltd (OGE) has entered into an agreement to provide consulting services on construction of LNG receiving terminals of CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC) and Taiwan Power Co Ltd (TPC) respectively. In CPC's third LNG receiving terminal construction project, OGE will conduct Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) and provide technical consulting services on regasification facilities as part of building a three million tons per annum (mtpa) LNG receiving capacity in the first phase of a six mtpa LNG terminal project planned to commence operation in 2023, a statement said. With the agreement following the previous one signed in March for consulting services on engineering and construction of four full containment pre-stressed concrete (PC) LNG tanks for the terminal, OGE will provide consulting services for the entire first phase construction project. Meanwhile TPC, OGE has reached an agreement to conduct FEED and provide technical consulting services on five full containment PC LNG tanks and regasification facilities for TPC's Taichung LNG receiving terminal. Chinsay´s RM is a single cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) system and will be used for end-to-end contract management and counterparty collaboration tool for Ferrexpo´s ocean freight operations, a statement said. The iron ore company will use Chinsay´s system in managing digital freight contracts across their offices worldwide. Ferrexpo will be able to create, edit, review and share contract information both internally and externally. The platform will also enable Ferrexpo to reduce the time to finalise all their charter party work and minimise the potential for contractual errors with risk and compliance oversight. The presence of Giant's mascot called Kak G, a clown, and distribution of more goodies like toys and hampers brought smiles to the children's faces. Paediatric respiratory consultant, Dr Norzila Mohamed Zainudin, commented, "You can see they are happy. Some of the children have been at the ward a long time. We welcome and love these kinds of visits." Meanwhile, Giant Setiawangsa branch manager, Izri Shahrin Ishak, said this is the sixth year of the activity.
